My experience reaches people from all walks of life: professional athletes, high-powered executives, doctors, artists, musicians, and even other therapists and healers. Equally, my work has helped those struggling with daily activities, looking for work, or trying to find their passion and purpose. Anxiety, depression, and trauma can affect us all, no matter where we are in life. I'm confident in helping you by offering some of the most researched, evidence-based treatments available.

Among some of my many tools, I’m one of the few people in Orange County highly trained in these different modalities:

(Research and evidence-based treatment based on relationships. Therapy focused on how we can show up better in our relationships)

- DBT -
(Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. A skills based form of therapy helping clients to help clients better regulate emotions)

- Mindfulness / Meditation -
(Taught in conjunction with therapy gives us greater self-awareness to speed up and expand upon the growth taking place in therapy)

- Narrative Therapy-
(Looking at our lives from unique perspectives that allow us to see our problems differently, focusing on our inner strength, to rewrite the stories we tell ourselves.)

In addition to my vast experience and extensive training, I’ve been there, and I get it. I know what it’s like to be sitting on the other side of the therapist’s chair processing trauma and rebuilding a life. At the pinnacle of a career in hospitality and events, working daily with wealthy and famous clients, I found my life dramatically changed. I was dealt a rare crippling bone disorder, spending 3 years in and out of surgeries, getting to the point of no longer wanting to live. It was my therapists that gave me the hope, resilience, and power to thrive. Now I’d like to help you transform your life with the tools that I live by which have given me peace, purpose, and happiness. While judgment and blame are easier, and we’ve sure blamed and judged ourselves plenty, I want help you understand what causes our behavior in order to better understand how to change the behaviors to achieve what we really want. My aim is to create a unique space where you have the opportunity to be your most authentic self. A place where you can be open and comfortable for honest exploration without fear of shame or judgment.

I understand just how difficult it can be to talk about some of the most personal parts of your life with someone who’s initially a total stranger, so I want to emphasize the aspect of confidentiality and what goes on in our sessions stays strictly between us. Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety and Depression keep us from getting everything we really want in life.

Depression may keep us from going after our goals and even stop us from getting out of bed. It robs us of our motivation. Before we know it days, weeks, and months have flown by, not knowing where that time went, and also maybe not caring.

Anxiety can be equally crippling, keeping us up all night, lost in thought when we need to be focused, and creating irrational fear stopping us dead in our tracks. Reducing the effects of anxiety and depression can be a truly liberating experience.


Trauma

I want to help you get past your past. Traumatic memories and events often keep us from going after what we really want in life. Trauma often creates a narrative for us. Sexual trauma may keep us from believing we can have healthy relationships. Childhood trauma may keep us from feeling worthy or loved. Medical trauma may keep us from feeling safe. Many other serious traumatic events might even keep us from ever wanting to leave the house because of the beliefs it has created for us.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

DBT is one of the most researched, proven effective types of therapy in the world. As one of the few Comprehensively Trained™ therapists in Orange County, I want to be able to give you these concepts to live a skillful, empowered life.

DBT is composed of 4 major components: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Emotion Regulation. They can be implemented altogether as a program of skills, or integrated in an as needed skill basis.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing is a revolutionary therapy in which your own brain is doing the processing of traumatic memories and maladaptive behaviors. EMDR is quickly becoming the gold standard in trauma treatment. People have found incredible success processing past traumas such as war, mass shootings, childhood abuse, and sexual assault. This integrative psychotherapy technique can be used when the trauma may be just too difficult to talk about. Current research is showing that treatment gains come about quicker and more efficient than typical Cognitive Behavioral Talk Therapy.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is all the rage these days, and for good reason. Science and research are showing us just how profound these practices can be for anxiety, focus, and attention. Its benefits also include significant decrease in insomnia, increased job performance and creativity as well as overall happiness. My own mindfulness practice over the last decade has been transformational. Unfortunately many people think mindfulness is just sitting in timed silence, which can only help us get further lost in thought. Throughout my years of teaching mindfulness to clients, I’ve found a number of ways to make the practice something anyone can grasp in order to quickly receive the benefits without having to go through the frustration of just sitting in silence.
